Dr. Kathryn Pedgrift, Psy.D.
Grant Director
Dr. Katie Pedgrift is a licensed clinical psychologist at North Bay Regional Center. She earned a Special Education Teaching Credential from San Diego State University, her Master’s Degree in Special Education from San Francisco State University, and her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at Alliant International University. She has worked with people who have autism and other developmental disabilities in a variety of contexts including forensic settings, in-patient and out-patient settings, schools, and diagnostic clinics. Dr. Pedgrift has authored numerous curricula designed to increase knowledge and self-protection behaviors in people with disabilities including the Array of Color’s curricula, Abuse Awareness and Prevention, Sexuality, as well as How to be Fire Safe programs.
Georgia Pedgrift
Grant Manager
Georgia Pedgrift completed her Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice Administration at Sonoma State University. During nearly 10 years working for law enforcement agencies, she became an expert in graffiti subculture, working with neighborhood groups to address chronic vandalism, participating in felony investigations, and supervising juvenile offenders. She then became the Community Engagement Coordinator for the City of Santa Rosa, connecting with various community organizations to increase
civic participation. Next she coordinated a leadership class for high school students called Tomorrow’s Leaders Today which exposed youth to how their community functions and empowered them to become civically engaged. With her many years of community work, she joined the grant team as the manager and community outreach coordinator.
Maurice Travis, LMFT
Grant Consultant
Maurice Travis is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. He obtained his graduate level training from Sonoma State University. He has worked as a behavior consultant for The Association of Behavior Consultants since 2003. He provides behavior assessment and consultation services for individuals and families with developmental disabilities. He has held adjunct faculty position at Santa Rosa Junior College in the Foster Kinship Care Education Department since 2009. He also runs a small private practice for people with developmental disabilities working with individuals, couples and families.
Mary Champion, LMFT, NCSP
Grant Consultant
Mary Champion is a Nationally Certified School Psychologist and Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. She obtained her graduate level training from Cal State East Bay and she has worked for Sonoma County Office of Education since 2013. Ms. Champion provides bilingual (Spanish and English) direct services and supports for students and families impacted by Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and emotional and behavioral challenges. She leads Sonoma County’s Collaborate Autism Diagnostic Clinic. She is part of the Sonoma County’s System of Support, a network of volunteer crisis response agencies that support local schools. She is also an instructor in a special education teacher credential program through the North Coast School of Education.
